It’s Happening
At The SHAC
Since our founding in 2008, the Shawnee Hills Arts Council(SHAC) mission is to be a captivating and welcoming place, bringing people together to share, inspire, nurture, educate, and enjoy arts and culture. Our Visions is to be a home for arts and culture, offering engaging opportunities and educational experiences to enrich and expand the life of our community.
What we do
Located in downtown Anna, the center has become a vibrant place –monthly art exhibits of various artists in Southern Illinois, classes for art/drama/dance, music and drama performances, lectures on various topics, and other special events.
SHAC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The Board of Directors is all volunteers that manage SHAC and sponsor the Anna Arts Center. There is no paid staff, only volunteers for every activity.
Exhibits & Events
SHAC offers a year-round schedule of exhibitions, performances, screenings, workshops, and other special events and programming for everyone in our community. Our calendar is updated often, so stay tuned for more information about art and culture in Southern Illinois!
